Thoughts

  • Idea of GNH would primarily be to engage people to think about their lives from an eternal perspective.  Also to proclaim the true Gospel.
    • Idea of huddle is that God didn't create us to be alone...and a huddle promotes the idea of doing things alongside others.
    • Also, in SWFL there is an area concentrated in retired people who have no Faith or do not know the true Gospel, who are at the ending stages of their lives (where they are thinking about what this means), and in SWFL there is a large group of people looking to serve Christ but don't want a hard, fast, or large commitment.  (What greater goal than leading people to Christ...what greater work is there?)
    • In addition, there seems to be a concentrated group of individuals who have been successful by worldly standards in SWFL.  Business owners, athletes, executives, etc.  This is attractive to believers and non-believers alike, and would be a great way for Christians to introduce non-believers to Faith if it could be done well within the interviews.
  • Basic Structure of GNH would be four-fold:
    • 1 - High quality interview videos of successful men and women who have left a profession and encountered issues of identity, value, and lack of purpose.  These interviews would be online only...viewable anytime.  No time schedule, but maybe have a goal of 5-10 per year.
    • 2 - Monthly or Quarterly in-person events where a panel discussion or a live interview takes place.  Focus would be on engaging audience around issues of time, retirement, purpose, family, service, etc.
    • 3 - Provide opportunity for retired Christians to share Faith with other retired Christians.
    • 4 - Provide opportunity for retired Christians to engage in work with kingdom purposes using their talents and strengths.
      • i.e. marketing, branding, interpersonal skills, etc.
